'Moving Toward' Global Warming Solution

Stanford Needs Sustainability Director
In Stanford's 2002 Guidelines for Sustainable Buildings, the Environmental Stewardship Committee recommended that the University appoint a sustainability coordinator. This coordinator would "act as an educator, rather than an 'inspector,' so that the Project Team develops the knowledge and commitment to achieve the best balance for the project." (more...)

Rainwater Cleans Vehicles, River
In a demonstration project designed to conserve water, control pollutants washing into the Charles River, and recharge groundwater supplies for the dry summer months, Harvard has begun using rainwater to wash as many as 250 University-owned vehicles a week. (more...)

Harvard On EPA's Top 25 Green Power Partners List
Top 25 Partners actions are helping drive the development of new renewable energy sources for electricity generation. Combined, their purchases amount to 1.6 million megawatt-hours (MWh) annually, which is approximately 68 percent of the green power commitments made by all Partners.
