Harvard diesel fleet tests a new technology for reducing emissions
Harvard Fleet Management Services, in conjunction with the Harvard Green Campus Initiative, is conducting a trial of a new non-blocking particulate filter manufactured by DCL International Inc. This device, called a MINE-X® Ultra, will reduce emissions of particulates, carbon monoxide, and hydro-carbons. While the MINE-X® Ultra has been field tested in Europe, Harvard is taking place in one of the first tests in North America. This exciting new technology achieves greater reductions of particulates than a standard retrofit (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst), without the risk of clogging found with other particulate filters.
