Sustainability hits the road with bikes, car-sharing, biodiesel

Cycling is more than a fast, fun way for employees like Jones to get around campus: it's a critical component of Harvard's response to global climate change. Leith Sharp, director of Harvard's Green Campus Initiative, says transportation accounts for about a third of U.S. greenhouse gases, the primary culprit in global warming. Alternative modes of transportation are crucial if the University is to reduce its environmental "footprint."
