Sustainability at Harvard

Does football recycle?

I don't know; ask Carl Ehrlich to find out:

This Saturday fans are coming from near and far (or at least as far as New Jersey) to watch Harvard tackle Princeton in football and…..recycling? Yep, that's right. Saturday is not only a big day for football as students, alums, and Princeton fans alike are all part of a greater goal: recycling. Harvard is representing the Ivies in the EPA sponsored Game Day Recycling Challenge, an event where 8 schools compete for the highest recycling and lowest trash percentages at one major football game of the season. This Saturday is a great time to show how green we are, with the potential to generate huge recycling numbers thanks to our thousands of supportive fans at the homecoming game.

To make sure we generate high recycling numbers we need all our fans to know about the Game Day Recycling Challenge. So please help us spread the word!

Or better yet, join us in handing out recycling bags to tailgaters before the game, you can meet students and alums and make a significant difference. A special call to graduate students, faculty, and staff: volunteering with us at the tailgates gets you into the game for free!

Lets make sure green remains the new Crimson, and support our home team on Saturday!
